Maria Luisa Ortiz Cooperative Mission Statement

We are an age mixed group of women organized at a community level. We all share a strong desire for self improvement and the self improvement of other women at a social, economic and political level. We are part of the Nicaraguan Women’s Movement.

We are developing different programs in the municipality of Mulukuku targeted at creating more access to information, resources and health care services for women, children and marginalized populations in general so that they can live with equity and dignity, without discrimination and violence…

In order to achieve our goals we offer education and integrated health care services combining alternative therapies with Western medicine. We defend women and children by giving them legal advice and attention through our legal office including mediation sessions when appropriate…We promote women’s leadership.
